wow it’s been a tough start to January! Business has been a little bit! how can I say? all over the place!
But it’s time to get back to the regular schedule and start posting on a regular basis! Showing what we are doing! How you can do it! And honestly connect with all of our amazing followers
So tonight 12 pm GMT there will be a new post coming ! This will be a second part to one of 10 things new photographers may not know section!
So please keep your eyes out for the next post! And if you’re reading this post, give it a thumbs up and hit the follow button so that you don’t miss it
Also head over to our Instagram! We have some amazing new images coming as we have just started a #365 project where I’m going to be posting a minimum of one new edit every day for the year! We are currently on day twelve, of this year and already posted fourteen images !
Well I think we did it, finally the Etsy store is coming together! Just in time for christmas !!!
More work is being added and there are a few of my favourite images live and ready to buy via digital download !
If you see something on there that you like and want in a frame or on a beautiful Ali dibond print send me a message for a price … you never know our prices could surprise you!
We are so happy to see that our Etsy is up and running and that people seem to like what we are selling!
This weeks it’s been about looking back at some of the images Ive taken and not actually used !
There are a number of reasons as photographers we keep a back stock of images that we have taken !
Not only to document what we are creating day to day or year to year!
But it’s great to actually take those images and bring them into the present day!
Now this might sound strange! But when we take these shots as photographers we are at a level that’s constantly changing ! We are always progressing and learning new things from styles to edits to poses!
It’s great from time time to time to take a day to look through you back stock and try what we have learnt to see if we can make something extra special from those files we put aside for a rainy day!
This week I signed up to a site for learning new things from lighting and editing to posing! And I feel I’ve learnt a thing or three !
So I got out the laptop and the hard drives and picked out a few images I’ve not yet edited!
To see the bigger pictures check out our Instagram page! You will see that there is a mix of edits ! That definitely captivate !
The difference that the new colour grade tool is making on images is outstanding
It’s possible that Adobe have created something will set it apart from other leading editing suits
I’ve used a number of editing tools over the years and I’ve kind of got bored with the same old ideas that everything needs to be photoshopped!
It’s such a misconception! I’ve been doing that get it right in camera and just do the basic of edit in lightroom
Now I’m a Sony shooter and to make life simple I use the send to phone Sony standard app that sends it in Raw and can be finished while out on location!
This works for so many reasons if you’re with a client and you want them to see the way the finished work is but don’t want to take a laptop /charger / leads and everything else including the kitchen sink ! Lightroom cc mobile it’s perfect and the great part is that as soon as you edit in the app it’s loading to the laptop in the studio!
Talk about the perfect mix ! Lightroom and Sony should join forces and do a deal that puts sony and Adobe users together at a great price!
Below are a couple of edits of jack
Saved out after colour grading and then returned to edit to black and white but to still have the graded mono look! Colour graded image this to me has something a little different ! Have to say I really like the portrait of jack!
Find the images of jack on our social media pages ! Feel free to head over and show it some love! While you’re there hit the follow button I post every day! And I’m interactive with my followers ! Jacks post on Instagram
A little over a week ago I was going to try running an advert on our main page.
For some reason the Instagram advertising has been locked and there seems to be no backing down by Instagram themselves. To unblock the page as someone else unknown to me paid for a promotion and didn’t pay the bill. I’ve never used paid promotions until this week.
This has meant that I’ve had to start a new back up account for our advertising, this isn’t all good news
Having tried out a two day advertisement and being quoted 1400 views, it seems posting on a new page that has very low following, mean that we don’t hit anywhere near that many accounts much more like 140 ..
If you have Instagram and would like to see more of what I’m working on please feel free to click >> Adrian Day Photography and follow it would be much appreciated. This account is going to be more about the black and white images I post.
I hope that you will agree that the images I post are worthy of you liking !
Below are a few images that I’ve posted up on the new page you can also click the images to head over to Instagram and be able to see more of the work I have created. And maybe even hit the like button on the image 😉
I really hope that you will like what you see and like this post too!
Before I go! If you follow my page or my blog I will do the same in return! If you comment I will do the same in return. It’s only polite to be kind and help each other grow! Have a great week!
